Patrick Topping

Patrick Topping hails from Newcastle upon Tyne and has grown into one of the UK's most influential DJs, producers, and label heads in electronic music. He made his DJ debut in 2009 at a working men's club in Newcastle, and broke through in 2013 with the "Walk On EP" on Jamie Jones' Hottrax label, followed by releases on Hot Creations. Since then he has built a catalogue of over 100 original tracks and remixes across Hot Creations, Relief Records, Truesoul, and his own Trick imprint. His sound is rooted in Chicago house and Detroit techno, with a sharp focus on tech house and techno. Highlight releases include the Beatport number-one "Be Sharp Say Nowt" (UK Silver certified, 2021), Ibiza Track of the Season "Forget" (2014), and multiple collaborations with Green Velvet — "Voicemail," "When Is Now," and "Mad Motion" (2024). His track "Frisk," made with Detroit icon Kevin Saunderson, appeared on the official soundtrack to The Batman. Remix credits span Calvin Harris, The Streets, Sam Fender, and Robyn. A long-standing resident at Jamie Jones' Paradise parties at DC-10 and at Hï Ibiza, Topping has also headlined Tomorrowland, Glastonbury, Coachella, and Awakenings. His Trick label and event series has grown into a global brand, including the hometown Trick Fest in Newcastle. Awards include DJ Awards Newcomer DJ & Track of the Season (2014), Best Tech House DJ (2018), and Best British DJ at DJ Mag's Best of British Awards (2022).
