PAUZA is the Cuban DJ and producer duo of Paula Fernández and Zahira Sánchez, formed in Havana in 2012 – the name is a combination of their first names. Both honed their craft through GBass Beat, the first-ever DJ course for women in Cuba, held at the Laboratorio Nacional de Música Electroacústica in Havana, making them pioneers of the female DJ movement on the island. Their sound fuses modern house and electronic music with Afro-Cuban rhythms and Cuban folklore – a style they describe as the musical soundtrack of everyday life in Cuba. Releases have appeared on labels including Made In Miami (Oscar G), Stereo Productions, Get Physical, and Abracadabra Music. Their track "Muy Bien" feat. Malone topped both Beatport and Traxsource for four months, while "La China" with Arema Arega and "Agua Pa Beber" with Robbie Rivera further cemented their reputation. On the live circuit, they have shared stages with Swedish House Mafia, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Blond:ish, and Gordo, and performed at the Tecate Live Out festival in Monterrey.
