Roger Sanchez

New York, USAhouse · tribal house · deep house · tech-house
Roger Sanchez, born June 1, 1967, in Queens, New York, to Dominican parents, is one of the most influential house DJs and producers in the world. He started DJing at the age of 13 and eventually left his architecture studies at the New York High School of Art and Design to pursue music full-time. His career kicked off in 1990 with the debut single "Luv Dancin'" under the alias Underground Solution on New York's iconic Strictly Rhythm label. His soulful house sound — rooted in salsa, disco, funk, and hip-hop — quickly made him a sought-after remixer for artists including Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue, Daft Punk, and Madonna. In 2003, he won a Grammy Award for his remix of No Doubt's "Hella Good." He achieved international chart success with "Another Chance" (2001) and has been named "Best House DJ" at the DJ Awards four times (1999, 2002, 2004, 2007). In 2002, he founded Stealth Records, followed later by UNDR THE RADR. His "Release Yourself" compilation series and podcast continue to shape the house scene. Sanchez holds a long-standing Ibiza residency and has performed at major venues and festivals including Pacha, Hï Ibiza, and Tomorrowland.
