S’ARRUAL JAZZ MORT
jazz · swing · dixieland
S'Arrual Jazz Mort is a jazz band from Mallorca that blends classic New Orleans jazz, Dixieland in the tradition of Southern US street bands, and 1930s swing with contemporary touches. A highlight of their repertoire is Duke Ellington's Cotton Club era with its distinctive "jungle sound", alongside modern versions of popular songs featuring original lyrics by bandleader Toni Isern. The ensemble boasts a rich line-up: multiple vocalists (including Maria Rosselló, Maria Antònia Gost and Maria Isern), clarinet and alto saxophone, trumpet, two trombones, piano, and guitar and banjo. The band has released two albums: the self-titled debut *S'Arrual Jazz Mort* (2002, Blau Records / Produccions Blau) with 14 tracks, and *Es Pirata*. They have performed at HortellaFest (2016), in Palma de Mallorca and in Manacor, making them a firmly established act on the island's cultural scene.
