Sergio Dalma, born Josep Sergi Capdevila Querol on 28 September 1964 in Sabadell, Catalonia, began his career singing in bands and choral groups before winning the TV show "Gent d'aquí" on Catalan television, which led to a residency at the Shadows club in Barcelona. He debuted in 1989 on the Horus label with *Esa Chica es Mía*, a platinum hit across Spain and Latin America. In 1991 he represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest with "Bailar Pegados," finishing fourth, and the same year released *Sintiéndonos la Piel* (4× Platinum). His 1992 album *Adivina*, driven by the single "Ave Lucía," reached number one in Spain. Dalma is one of Spain's best-selling artists, with nine chart-topping albums on the official PME chart — including five consecutive number ones from 2008 to 2013. *Via Dalma* (2010, 6× Platinum, Warner Music) and *Via Dalma II* (2011, 4× Platinum), both produced by Claudio Guidetti and featuring Spanish-language covers of Italian hits, were his commercial peak. *Via Dalma II* received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Album. His notable duets include collaborations with Vanesa Martín, Chenoa, and María Dolores Pradera. He signed with Sony Music in 2019.
