Sofía Ellar – born Sofía Lecubarri Ruigómez on 15 November 1993 in London – is a British-Spanish singer-songwriter who moved to Madrid as a child and built her musical career there. She began performing at small concerts in the early 2000s while eventually studying Business Administration at IE University. Her breakthrough came through social-media platforms such as SoundCloud, Instagram and YouTube, which led to radio and TV appearances and a tour across Spain. Her debut album "Seis Peniques" was released in February 2017, driven by the single "Segundas Partes Entre Suicidas". Further albums followed: "Nota en Do" (2018), the live project "Una y Nos Vamos: Sesiones de Aperitivo" (2021), "Libre" (2022) and most recently "Ellar" (2025). Her collaborations include tracks with Álvaro Soler ("Barrer a Casa") and Andrés Suárez, as well as the charity single "Humanidad en Paro" (December 2017), whose proceeds she donated in full. She has performed at festivals such as Arenal Sound and Concert Music Festival. She is widely praised for her exceptionally close connection with audiences – often singing surrounded by fans on the floor.
