The Blaze are a Paris-based electronic music duo formed by cousins Guillaume and Jonathan Alric. The project was born when Jonathan, then studying film in Brussels, asked Guillaume – who had previously produced music under the alias Mayd Hubb – to compose a soundtrack for a short film. From the outset, the pair developed music and visuals together, and their music videos are widely celebrated as cinematic short films in their own right.
They debuted in 2016 with "Virile," released on Brodinski's Bromance Records as part of the compilation *Homieland Vol. 2*. The accompanying video surpassed one million views and brought them international recognition. Their EP *Territory* followed in 2017 on the Animal 63 label. Their debut album *Dancehall* arrived in 2018 via Columbia Records and RCA Records, cementing their status as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary French house and ambient dance. A second album, *Jungle*, was released in 2023. Their sound fuses atmospheric electronics with dub influences, shimmering percussion and distorted, haunting vocals. The Blaze are a staple of international festival circuits and premium club settings – a natural fit for the upscale event scene around Mallorca.
