THE MAGICIAN

The Magician is the alias of Belgian DJ and producer Stephen Fasano, born in 1987 in Namur, Belgium. After co-founding the Balearic disco duo Aeroplane alongside Vito De Luca, he launched his solo career in 2010. His international breakthrough came with a 2011 remix of Lykke Li's "I Follow Rivers," which has since surpassed 790 million streams on Spotify. In 2014 he released "Sunlight" featuring Years & Years – a Top 10 hit in the UK and Belgium – which he performed live at the MTV Europe Music Awards. That same year he received the Electro Award at Belgium's Les Octaves de la musique. Further hits such as "Shy" (feat. Brayton Bowman) and remixes for Clean Bandit, Polo & Pan, and Sébastien Tellier cemented his reputation as a tastemaker. He founded his own label Potion Records in 2014. His monthly mix series "Magic Tapes," running since the mid-2010s, has become a firm fixture in the global house scene. In November 2024, after 15 years as a solo artist, he released his debut album VOYAGE (Potion Records), created in collaboration with pianist Sofiane Pamart, among others. Live, The Magician has played Tomorrowland, Coachella, Ushuaia Ibiza, EDC Las Vegas, and held a five-year residency at Elsewhere Brooklyn.
