Tom Trovador

Schweizrock · pop · rumba · singer-songwriter
Tom Trovador, born in Switzerland to immigrant parents, found his way to music as a teenager in Seville: at 14 he played electric guitar in bands and Spanish guitar on the streets. He recorded two albums with Hébridas on Elefant Records and toured with rock bands Los Sudakas and Varón Von Benz & The Chevrolets. His talent for street performance brought him to the stage in Tenerife in 1997 – since then he's made his living entirely from live music. After stops in Madrid, Galicia, Tenerife, and the Netherlands, he settled on Mallorca in 2006, where he's been active ever since. Armed with just a microphone, Spanish guitar, and flamenco cajón, Tom Trovador gets any audience singing along with rumba, rock, and pop. After more than 20 years in the live circuit built on cover songs, he now also performs his own original repertoire. He's particularly known for his passionate tribute to Robe (Extremoduro), celebrating hits like "Jesucristo García" or "Sucede" together with the audience – under the title "1 Year and 1 Day Without Robe," he brings this emotional homage to La Movida Café Concierto.
