Úrsula Pomar Trio
jazz · flamenco · classical
The Úrsula Pomar Trio is a Mallorcan jazz-flamenco ensemble led by flautist Úrsula Pomar Capó. The formation of flute, guitar and cajón weaves together jazz, flamenco and classical music into its own original repertoire, where flamenco works, jazz standards and reinterpretations of classical pieces coexist on equal footing. Úrsula Pomar Capó is the winner of the II Jóvenes Talentos Scholarship at the Festival Paco de Lucía Mallorca, an accolade that underlines the trio's artistic standing. The project thrives on attentive listening within the group, improvisation and the dialogue between three musical traditions. On Mallorca, the trio performs as part of the "Jazz i Vi" programme by Illa Músics, including at the outdoor venue Es Cub at the Mesquida Mora winery in Porreres – a format combining live music, wine and gastronomy for an intimate concert experience.
