Wally Lopez

Madrid, Spanienhouse · tech-house · deep-house
Wally López, born Ángel David López Álvarez in 1976 in the San Blas district of Madrid, has been one of the defining figures in Spanish and international house music for three decades. He started his career at the age of 13 as a DJ and radio presenter on Top Radio Madrid. After spells at Loca FM and Flaix FM, he developed his own radio format "La Factoría" on Máxima FM — today the show runs as "La Factoría Radioshow" daily on Onda Madrid (since 2022). In 2000 he founded Weekend Records and stepped forward as a producer: his first international hit "Amman" put him firmly on the map, followed by "Patricia Never Leaves the House" and "Disco Night" — picked up by Pete Tong, Hernán Cattaneo and Steve Lawler, the latter calling him "The Man of the Moment". His remix of David Guetta's "Just a Little More Love" is credited as Guetta's first worldwide chart hit. Further releases appeared on Defected, Underwater, Yoshitoshi and Subliminal. He later founded TheFactoria Records as an umbrella platform for multiple sub-labels and the Factomania Group. Residencies at Space and Pacha in Ibiza, as well as Ministry of Sound and The End in London, established his international reputation. His sound blends tech house, deep house and minimal techno elements. Through his "Trust Wally" initiative he actively supports emerging DJ talent.
