Wermut

WERMUT is a German electronic duo founded in Hamburg in 2001 by Laszlo P.S. and Sofia E.R., now based in Ratzeburg, Schleswig-Holstein. The project deliberately defies easy genre labelling: their music shifts between 80s-style minimal-electro, post-industrial, minimal-wave, psychedelic prog-electro and folk undertones. Laszlo and Sofia cite Tradition in general and the works of French metaphysician René Guénon in particular as their primary sources of inspiration. Notable releases include the album "Anna", the self-released "Mélanges" (2018) and contributions to the niche imprint Old Europa Cafe. Beyond their own music, Wermut run two sublabels — one focused on more danceable electro, the other on introspective post-industrial sounds, including the ambient label REUE UM REUE.
