WhoMadeWho

Copenhagen, Denmarkindie rock · dance-punk · electronic · melodic-house
WhoMadeWho are a Danish trio from Copenhagen, formed in 2003 by singer and bassist Tomas Høffding, jazz guitarist Jeppe Kjellberg, and drummer/producer Tomas Barfod. Early singles such as "Out the Door" and "Space to Rent" on German disco label Gomma Records led to their self-titled debut album in 2005. Moving to Kompakt (Cologne), they released *Knee Deep* (2011) and *Brighter* (2012), cementing their reputation as a remix-friendly live band – with remixes from Tale Of Us, Michael Mayer, Maceo Plex, and Kollektiv Turmstrasse. Further releases appeared on Life & Death, Innervisions, Get Physical, and Ellum Audio. The pandemic-era album *Synchronicity* (2020, Kompakt) featured collaborations with Michael Mayer, Mano Le Tough, Robag Wruhme, Frank Wiedemann, and Perel. Their sound fuses electronic beats with live instrumentation – Barfod's production expertise meeting Høffding's rock bass and Kjellberg's jazz guitar. The band has performed at festivals including Roskilde, Sónar, and Burning Man, won the Best Organic House award at the 2024 DJ Awards in Ibiza, and played renowned venues such as Watergate Berlin and Cityfox New York.
