Yapi

Yapi, born in 2004 in Madrid to Cameroonian parents and raised in the Madrid district of Parla, is one of the most exciting newcomers in the Spanish urban music scene. Trilingual by upbringing, he blends trap, drill, R&B, and Afro-influenced rhythms into a distinctive sound that reflects both his Iberian and African roots. He began his musical journey with freestyle sessions shared on social media, releasing his first official track "Hiding" on 10 February 2022. His real breakthrough came in early 2025 with the viral single "Dónde te escondes?", which fuses rap, melodic reggaeton, and emotive lyricism, reaching number 82 on the Spanish charts. He followed up with "Pepesoup" – a collaboration with Cyril Kamer – and "Báilame Gyal" (March 2025), further cementing his place in the Spanish urban scene. Additional collaborations with Saiko ("Te encontré"), JC Reyes, and Aspect Juni demonstrate his versatility. His debut EP "Badman in Love" ranks among his most-streamed projects. In December 2025, he performed at the Top Boy Party showcase at MIA VIP Club in Málaga.
