SANTA CECÍLIA CONCERT, MUSICAL EXCHANGE

This year we will celebrate our patron saint Santa Cecília on this day, as we are holding a cultural and musical exchange with the Banda de Música La Lira Ampostina. The Banda de Música La Lira Ampostina is part of the Societat Musical La Lira Ampostina, an organisation founded in 1916 which, for more than 110 years, has been one of the main cultural references in the city of Amposta and the Terres de l’Ebre. Throughout our history, music has been much more than an artistic activity: it has been a meeting point between generations, a school of values and a way of understanding culture as a service to society. Today, our organisation continues to work with this same spirit, bringing together tradition and the enthusiasm to continue growing and sharing new projects. The band is made up of musicians of all ages, many of whom began their musical journey at our Music School. This coexistence between younger musicians and those with more experience is one of our great strengths and allows us to keep generational renewal alive. The Banda de Música is currently conducted by Sergi Costes Ferré, who leads the musical project with enthusiasm, high standards and a clear commitment to the ensemble’s artistic growth. We share all these values and, for this reason, we are preparing this shared concert with great enthusiasm to show that music goes beyond. The Banda de Música de Petra is made up of around 35 musicians and is conducted by Andreu Julià.
