Descent of the Bull

On 5 September, Fornalutx starts the day with the Herabführung des Stiers, the bringing down of the bull. The event begins at 8:00 am and is accompanied by the Xeremiers de Fornalutx. Their xeremies—traditional Mallorcan bagpipes—give the morning a distinctly local sound. As part of a fiesta, this gathering brings together village life, community and musical tradition.
