BOEF

Alkmaar, Netherlandship-hop · rap · dutch hip-hop
Boef – real name Sofiane Youssef Samir Boussaadia – was born on 28 February 1993 in Aubervilliers, Île-de-France, and grew up in Alkmaar, Netherlands. His childhood took him between France, the Netherlands, and the United States; after serving time in juvenile detention centres, he committed fully to music at the age of 18. His breakthrough came in 2015 when a live session for label Zonamo Underground racked up over a million YouTube views. His debut EP Gewoon Boef (February 2016), preceded by the hit single "Lauw", peaked at number 4 on the Dutch charts and quickly went platinum. His debut album Slaaptekort (March 2017) surpassed that achievement, topping the Dutch charts. Musically, Boef blends Dutch-language rap with influences from 90s gangsta rap, Arabic music, and Eurodance – a combination that rapidly placed him among the most-streamed rappers in the Netherlands alongside Lil' Kleine and Ronnie Flex. Beyond music, he runs a successful vlog channel with videos viewed millions of times. His releases have appeared on BoefMusic, Zonamo Underground, and Sony Music Entertainment.
