V Herding Competition

Consell hosts its fifth herding competition on 24 October 2026. This distinctive sporting discipline centres on the partnership between handler and herding dog. Herding calls for more than speed and movement: attention, clear signals and a sensitive understanding of the animals are essential. If you’re interested in working dogs, the competition offers a reason to visit Consell in Mallorca’s interior. Much of this discipline’s appeal lies in watching closely: how do handler and dog communicate, and how do individual instructions come together as coordinated teamwork?
