Alcázar de Artà is a boutique winery in the northeast of Mallorca, a short way outside the historic town of Artà. The estate lies secluded in a landscape of gentle hills, old trees and a great deal of quiet. That seclusion is not a side effect of the address but the starting point: turn off the country road and you leave the bustle of the east coast behind within minutes.
The estate has existed since 2025, which makes it one of the youngest addresses in Mallorcan wine. Across barely six hectares of its own vineyards the work is deliberately kept small in scale. The planting is dense, at around four thousand vines per hectare, and clearly laid out; the area is split half and half between white and red. That split makes the claim the house sets for itself easy to read: quality before quantity, craft before volume.
The vines of Alcázar de Artà
International and Mallorcan varieties stand side by side in the vineyard, and the mix is a deliberate choice. The white side is carried by Chardonnay and Malvasía, planted for freshness and clarity. On the red side stand Callet and Manto Negro, which the estate lists as traditional Mallorcan varieties, complemented by Pinot Noir.
That combination is not a given on the island. Callet and Manto Negro are island varieties with a character of their own; Pinot Noir is the international counterpart to them. The estate itself describes the two standing on the same ground as a link between origin and international influence, and it is the most precise indication of where this house wants to go stylistically.
Behind the choice of varieties lies a way of working that the estate ties expressly to the land. Every decision, from planning the parcels to selecting the grapes, is meant to follow the rhythm of the site rather than the calendar of the market. That is a statement a young operation is only taken at its word on after a few vintages, but the vineyard has been laid out accordingly.
An estate for weddings and celebrations
Alongside viticulture, the estate is set up for events, and specifically for the kind that need space and privacy. Weddings have several separate areas at their disposal, so the whole day can unfold in one place: the ceremony on wide terraces or lawns, the aperitif by the infinity pool, then the reception and later a dedicated area for the party. The layered layout means each stage of the day gets its own view of the grounds.
The estate also takes corporate events and brand appearances, from incentives through product presentations to curated formats, as well as private celebrations on a small or a larger scale. It is let for photo and film productions too: architecture, vineyards and natural light give you settings that would otherwise have to be built at some expense.
Visits and enquiries
If you want to see Alcázar de Artà, it helps to know how the house presents itself in public. It describes its vineyards, its varieties and its event spaces in detail. A publicly advertised tour or tasting programme is not part of that; the way onto the grounds runs through an enquiry to the estate itself.
For a house of this size that is a reasonable decision. It fits an approach built on restraint, one that protects the quiet of the setting rather than advertising it.
