Ikos Porto Petro Beach Club

Porto Petro

Porto Petrobeach club

The scent of grilled garlic prawns drifts across from the open restaurant area. Somewhere a DJ set is playing – not a thundering bass that drowns everything out, but a quiet wave carrying the midday rhythm. In front of you: the resort's largest pool, light dancing on the surface, flanked by white pergolas and the soft rustle of pine trees. That's a typical lunchtime at the Ikos Porto Petro Beach Club.

Concept

The Beach Club is not a standalone dayclub – it is the gastronomic and atmospheric heart of Ikos Porto Petro, opened in 2023, a five-star all-inclusive resort run by the Sani/Ikos Group. The resort was created from the renovation of the former Hotel Blau Porto Petro and sits between two sandy coves on the southeast coast, right on the edge of the Mondragó Natural Park and a short walk from Porto Petro's yacht harbour. The group's concept is called "Infinite Lifestyle" – not a classic all-inclusive experience with plastic cups, but menus designed by Michelin-starred chefs across several à-la-carte kitchens, unlimited Taittinger Champagne and cocktail service right at the pool. There's also the "Dine Out" principle: the all-inclusive extends to selected restaurants at Porto Petro harbour, at no extra charge.

Atmosphere & Design

The Beach Club's interior was designed by architecture and interior studio GRONDA, with the Greek islands as inspiration. The restaurant area is completely open, sheltered only by pergolas; in front lie the pool and sun loungers, integrated into the landscape, directly beside the small cove of Cala des Homes Morts. No overload, no design circus: muted tones, wooden furniture, natural materials. The complex faces east – morning and midday light with full sea views, while pine trees provide shade in the afternoon. The whole resort breathes care and freshness.

Food & Drinks

The lunch menu offers Mediterranean cuisine in its most direct form. Particularly praised: garlic prawns, octopus (described by guests as ten out of ten), meatballs, a grilled Ibérico pork chop, aubergine salad and a surprisingly good cinnamon bun for dessert. In the evening the tone shifts: slightly more formal, shorts and flip-flops are not welcome, and table reservations are mandatory. All dishes, cocktails and a wine cellar of over 300 international labels are included in the stay price. At midday, a live DJ plays – subtle but tangible: "vibe and setting worthy of any European exclusive beach bar", as one travel blogger aptly put it.

Who It's For & What Occasions

The resort primarily draws families who want to combine luxury and relaxation without culinary compromise. Couples without children will find quiet corners in the Beach Club and certain adults-only areas, but should know that the overall atmosphere is strongly family-oriented – noticeably more relaxed outside school holidays.

Insider Tip

Evening reservations fill up quickly – book as early as possible, ideally when making your hotel reservation. Standard guests can pre-book three dinner restaurants; Deluxe guests have more flexibility. Tucked beneath the Lobby Bar, opposite the main restaurant, is a barely-advertised Gelateria and Patisserie with around 20 ice cream flavours – a quiet secret among regulars. And for those wanting a day in the surroundings: the resort provides complimentary loan cars as part of its "Local Drive Adventure" programme – Cala Figuera and the Mondragó Park are within easy reach, with no parking hassle.
