Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa – Beach Clubs in Mallorca

Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa

Santa Ponsa

Santa Ponsabeach club

The pool lies still, Balinese sun beds casting long shadows toward the bay — and somewhere behind you a DJ is slowly coaxing the afternoon awake. This is Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa before the evening begins: no noise, no rush, just the blue of Santa Ponsa Bay below and the Tramuntana silhouette on the horizon.

Concept

Puro Group’s first resort — and immediately a statement. What the group established as beach club spirit at Purobeach Illetas is here expanded into a full hotel experience. The brand behind Purohotel Palma since 2004 opened in 2025 this hillside hideaway on the south-west coast, known internally as “Oasis del Mar.” The USP is as simple as it is convincing: the only property on the island where a fully operational beach club sits inside the hotel itself. Guests don’t need a parallel booking; the sun bed is literally a few steps from the room. Outside visitors arrive via day pass — beach club, dinner, breakfast, yoga and wellness passes open the resort to non-staying guests.

Atmosphere

“Mature beach club energy interlaced with quiet luxury” — The Sybarite’s description fits precisely. No pump-up energy, no crowd. Guests describe the design as striking, stylish and immaculately clean: natural, calm tones, Mediterranean warmth, deep cushioned loungers at the main pool with views across the bay. During the day, restrained background music plays; only in the later afternoon does the DJ lift the energy — not as a party signal but as a gentle transition into evening. Those who want genuine quiet choose the adults-only pool on the higher terrace; the family pool is separate. The slow-living pace is part of the concept: even the half-board dinner celebrates time, with courses prepared à la minute.

Kitchen & Drinks

Four outlets, four characters. The beating heart is the **Purobeach beach club** with its M3 concept — a kitchen that bridges the flavours of Miami, Marrakech and Melbourne, accompanied by signature cocktails and the Puro Music vibe.

The counterpoint in finesse is **ONA** — Catalan for “wave.” Chef **César García de la Riva**, trained in León and honed in kitchens including Francis Paniego’s Echaurren and Martín Berasategui’s Basque flagship, puts fire and sea at the centre. The Josper grill is not equipment — it’s a concept: linen-caught hake medallions glazed with lobster sauce, prawn crisps and roasted potatoes with lemon and capers. Charcoal-grilled octopus with a green sauce espuma of hazelnut, coffee and vanilla shows how far ONA stretches the Mediterranean. Best experienced at golden hour with sea views, unhurried à la carte.

**Mantra** covers breakfast and dinner in a buffet format with live cooking stations, in an indoor-outdoor setting designed for lingering. The **Purobeach Café** fills the gap for relaxed mornings and light lunches, with a sustainably oriented approach.

Wellness

**Puro Wellness**, developed in partnership with **Seaskin Life**, works exclusively with 100% organic, Mediterranean-sourced skincare. Sauna, steam room and curated programmes — including a three-day anti-stress package and the seven-day “Island Glow” — make the resort bookable as a wellness destination in its own right.

Who It’s For & Occasions

Couples, wellness travellers, anyone who wants to experience “slow luxury” rather than read about it. Around 160 individually designed rooms and suites range from the Flow standard room to the Purobeach Signature Sea View Suite with a private sun bed and open-air shower. Birthdays and special occasions come up regularly in guest accounts — champagne and cava touches are part of the picture.

Insider Tip

Head to the adults-only pool early for the best position overlooking the bay. The direct path to the beach involves around 150 steps down the hillside — those who’d prefer to skip it take the complimentary hotel shuttle (not available on Sundays). If staying half-board, allow time for dinner: the kitchen works à la minute, and the pacing between courses is part of the concept.
