The Atomic Garden is a small, characterful cervecería in the west of Palma – the address in the Santa Catalina (Ponent) district if you take beer seriously and still want to stay relaxed. Tucked away on Carrer de Borguny, just a few steps from the bustle around the Mercat de Santa Catalina, the motto "Beer, Rock & Movies" sums up everything the place stands for.

What makes Atomic Garden special
The difference is the mix of a serious beer list and a wholly unpretentious mood. For more than fifteen years – the anniversary was celebrated not long ago – the little bar has built a reputation far beyond the neighbourhood and regularly tops local beer rankings; around a thousand guests have rated it online with an average of 4.7 stars.
It also sits in one of the densest craft-beer corners on the island: Cerveseria Tramuntana and La Velo Brewery are only a few doors away. Even so, the bar has kept its own slightly nostalgic character, which sets it apart from the neighbours.

Drinks & menu
The beer list is among the most extensive in the city: imported specialities and craft beers from across Europe, mainly in bottles, plus a changing handful on tap. If you can't decide, just ask behind the bar – the recommendations are spot on, something guests mention again and again.
Beyond the beer focus, the Atomic Garden also pours cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, along with small pub-style plates. The emphasis is clearly on the glasses and the atmosphere, not on a big kitchen – a meeting point for the evening rather than a sit-down dinner.

Atmosphere & location
The surroundings give the place its character: the walls are covered all over with old movie posters and antiques, rock plays in the background, and on some evenings there's live music. The room is small and can fill up on a good night – which is exactly what creates the warm, slightly nostalgic mood. Come early if you want to be sure of a seat.
The spot on the edge of Santa Catalina is ideal for a long evening: about a quarter of an hour on foot from the centre and the Paseo Marítimo. A place for good conversations, serious beer and the feeling of having found a real favourite.
