The light refracts off the water between the rocks, and before you have your first drink in hand, you see someone leap straight from the cliffs into the sea. No pool, no artificial basin — at Purobeach Illetas, the open sea is part of the furniture.

The Concept
Since May 2017, Puro Group has run its second beach club on the island, and Illetas was the only right choice. The property sits in Cas Català-Illetes, right where the rocks meet the Cala ses Illetes — around twelve kilometres from Palma’s city centre, in the Bahía de Palma. The “Oasis del Mar” label fits: no pool landscape, no concrete architecture in sight, just crystalline water as the sole backdrop. Puro Group has been committed to cosmopolitan travel since its founding; in Illetas, that ethos produces a beach club where Mediterranean simplicity and worldly ambition sharpen each other.

Atmosphere
The design plays one clear contrast: all-white furniture and surfaces against the deep blue of the sea. Arabic arches and fountains meet Mallorcan olive trees and pines; natural wood sits beside rock. Take your time and you will find a natural cave and a viewpoint that opens the Bay of Palma like a panoramic painting. Around 109 sun loungers and hammocks — including generous Balinese beds in the Oasis Area — are spread across the different zones. Arrive early and claim a spot at the water’s edge, and you look out over a rock landscape with the open sea as your immediate foreground. The crowd is international, well-heeled, and typically unhurried.
For music: downtempo in the morning, lounge in the afternoon, deep house and nu-disco at sunset. The in-house music brand Puro Music provides the curation, with resident DJs shaping the day-to-evening transition. The recurring flagship event is the Season Opening, an iconic evening event that has become a fixture of the Illetas season. Through summer, regular sunset events with guest DJs round out the programme — check the events section for current dates.
Food & Drinks
The kitchen runs under the name “M3 Cuisine” — the three Ms stand for Miami, Marrakech and Melbourne. Mediterranean base, global influences, fresh and often diet-conscious ingredients. The Salmon Avocado Tiradito is considered a must; the “Gino” is a generously portioned dish best shared. For something more substantial: the grilled entrecôte delivers meat quality that holds up even at this price level, and the pasta with lobster or seafood keeps appearing in reviews for good reason. There is also paella, woks and fruit platters for those who prefer it lighter.
At the terrace bar: fruity cocktails, the in-house Puro Wine Collection, international spirits and champagne for those who like to mark the evening accordingly. The menu is available digitally via QR code.
Who It Is For
International couples and groups who want a beach day, elevated dining and sunset drinks all in one. On Sundays, the Recovery Brunch stands as its own format beyond the standard beach day. The wellness area offers massages with island-grown almond oils and occasional yoga sessions. For private events and corporate celebrations — from intimate dinner gatherings to events for up to 700 guests — a dedicated groups team is on hand. Weddings are explicitly offered.
Insider Tip
Booking a lounger or Balinese bed in advance is not optional — it is essential. At peak times there is nothing left to claim, and an uncollected reservation gets cancelled after midday. The sunbed booking includes towels, fresh fruit, a smoothie and mineral water — a package that puts the price into perspective. One honest note: the property is not fenced off from the public beach next door, and on busy days beachgoers may wander into the rock area. For maximum calm, arrive early and on a weekday. The moment the day turns to evening — pink and orange sky, the moon rising over the sea — is what keeps people coming back.
