Climate in S'Arracó — Village in the Andratx Valley
S'Arracó is a picturesque village nestled in the valley basin of Andratx, in the southwest of Mallorca. The valley lies between hills and opens toward the coast to the south. Historically known for its colonial-style architecture, S'Arracó sits climatically within the sphere of influence of the mild Andratx climate.
According to aggregated climate data for the Andratx region, S'Arracó receives around 506 mm of precipitation per year — slightly above the AEMET figure for Palma (449 mm). The wettest month is November, with approximately 79 mm. Summers in the southwest of Mallorca are very dry: in July, climate data show only around 9 mm of rainfall.
Summers are warm. In July, daytime highs reach around 31°C, with a daily average of around 26°C. The valley basin shields S'Arracó from the strong Tramuntana wind that is well known along the north coast — in the southwest, this effect is barely noticeable. The nearest coastline (Port d'Andratx) is about 7 km away; sea temperatures along the southwest coast sit at around 25°C in July.
By October, the sea is still around 23°C. Autumn gradually brings more rainfall, and the valley basin can occasionally trap fog. Winters are mild, with a January average of around 11–12°C, though on clear, calm nights cold air can drain down the surrounding slopes into the valley, pushing temperatures somewhat lower than on the open coast.
