Description

Bodega Oloron is a winery on the outskirts of Alaró, offering wine tastings, cellar tours and tastings in an architecturally remarkable building.

An underground winery with a mountain backdrop

Designed by local architect Rafael Vidal together with wine expert Riccardo Cotarella, the bodega sits entirely underground, with the ancient walls of the original wine cellar woven into the surrounding terraced landscape. The winery takes its name from the historic designation of Alaró itself: sources from the 13th century record the village as "Olorón".

Grape varieties & wines

Across ten hectares, Bodega Oloron grows Chardonnay and Malvasia, with Merlot and Cabernet vines more recently added to the estate. The winery combines traditional cellar methods with a contemporary approach. The well-tended vineyards and the balanced, elegant quality of the wines are a defining characteristic of the estate.

Tastings & the visitor experience

Guests are welcome to explore the underground facilities, including generously lit tasting rooms, while learning about the winemaking process. Wine tastings are accompanied by a generous spread of food featuring local and regional specialities. Booking ahead is recommended for groups, though the bodega has also welcomed walk-in visitors.

Location & surroundings

The bodega sits on the road towards Santa Maria, roughly 1.5 km from Alaró, at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana. The address is Polígono 4, 07340 Alaró.
