Cala Major
Description
Cala Major is a sandy beach in the south-west of Palma, nestled within a densely built-up coastal suburb with hotels, bars and eateries right on your doorstep.
Beach & Water
Fine sand and crystal-clear turquoise water are the real hallmarks of this city beach. The entry into the water is shallow and free of rocks, making swimming a straightforward pleasure. The beach stretches around 200 metres. Paid sun loungers and parasols are available to hire; if you're not renting a parasol, it's worth bringing your own shade, as there's very little shadow outside the hired areas. Public toilets and showers are on site.
Food & Surroundings
There are bars and a kiosk right on the beach serving drinks and food. The adjacent suburb offers a further selection of eateries and small shops. The surroundings are dominated by large hotel complexes that line the coastline.
Location & Getting There
The beach is located in the Ponent district of Palma and can be reached via Carrer Gavina 9. It's easy to get to from Palma city centre by public transport. Free on-street parking is available nearby, and a paid car park is also on hand.
