Description

Caló de sa Torre is a small cove on the south-east coast of Mallorca, south of Portopetro, within the municipality of Santanyí.

The Cove

Caló de sa Torre sits just south of Portopetro's harbour, tucked into a sheltered inlet. The beach is a narrow strip of sand flanked by rocks that offer shady spots to rest. The water is clear and turquoise, the seabed at the water's edge is sandy with some fine gravel, and the cove's position keeps conditions calm — making it well suited for snorkelling.

Atmosphere

The cove has a quiet, unhurried feel, even during the peak summer months. A hotel complex sits directly adjacent, which has changed the once secluded character of the spot — something many visitors openly lament. A recurring issue is washed-up litter and microplastics carried in by the current.

Location & Parking

The cove belongs to the municipality of Santanyí and is located in Portopetro. On-street parking is available in the surrounding area, though the access roads are narrow. A snack and cocktail van is stationed up on the road above.
