Can Melero began trading around 1920 as a general provisions store selling agricultural and animal products, founded by Pedro Juan Miró Forteza. Right up until the 1990s, the shop stocked a wide range of goods and produced feed mixes for poultry, cattle, and homing pigeons. A striking reminder of that heritage is an early 20th-century almond-cracking machine, which local farmers from the Campos area still use to this day.
