Description
The Etnográfico Campos is an ethnographic museum in the southern Mallorcan town of Campos, showcasing tools, equipment and fully recreated settings from traditional Mallorcan crafts and trades of the past.
A Collection with History
Built up over 27 years, the Etnográfico Campos collection brings together authentic objects from the everyday lives of past generations on Mallorca. You'll find fully furnished craft workshops — from the blacksmith and basket weaver to the dyer, locksmith and barber — as well as merchant shops and a wealth of agricultural tools and implements. Every room has been carefully prepared, with objects displayed just as they would have been used.
Guided Through the Past
The museum spans three floors. Guided tours led by Miquel and Andrés, the two men behind the collection, are a highlight of any visit: their accounts of traditional crafts, local customs and daily life in Mallorca across the generations are both engaging and surprisingly in-depth — a tour can easily take well over two hours.
In the Heart of Campos
The museum is located at Carrer de Francesc Talladas Historiador 29, right in the centre of Campos, a market town in the south of the island. The exhibition is explicitly suitable for families with children of all ages.
