Description
Cova Negra is a restaurant in Capdepera, housed in a historic building in the heart of the village.
Cuisine and Menus
The menu at Cova Negra champions Mallorcan and Mediterranean cooking. Tasting menus and set menus are both on offer, with creativity and presentation given clear priority throughout. Dishes that draw consistent praise include rice dishes — among them duck rice and rice with scarlet prawns — steak tartare, foie gras, lobster, lamb shank and duck. Tableside preparations, in particular steak tartare and crêpes Suzette, are a highlight of any evening here.
Atmosphere and Interiors
The restaurant occupies a sensitively restored historic building — a former monastery. The bar is set within what was once a chapel, and it's widely regarded as one of the most atmospheric spots in the house. The terrace looks out over the Castell de Capdepera, the surrounding mountains and, on clear evenings, the sunset. Passing through the former monastery garden is very much part of the experience.
Service
The service team is consistently described as attentive, professional and knowledgeable. A calm, unhurried pace runs as a through-line across guest feedback.
Location and Getting Here
Cova Negra is located at Carrer Dones de la Llata 7 in the centre of Capdepera. Parking is available directly outside the restaurant, including an accessible space.
