Description

Sa Dragonera is an uninhabited island and nature reserve off the south-west coast of Mallorca, reached by ferry from the village of Sant Elm.

Nature & Wildlife

The island is best known for its remarkable lizard population — the creatures are everywhere and will often venture surprisingly close to visitors. Beyond that, you can spot wading birds, seabirds and a fine variety of other wildlife. The unspoilt, peaceful landscape with its striking terrain makes it a compelling destination for anyone who loves the natural world.

Walking & Lighthouses

Several waymarked walking trails open up the island, leading to its three lighthouses as well as to the island's summit. Sturdy footwear is strongly recommended. There is nothing to buy on the island, so bring plenty of water and sun protection. Toilets with running water are available near the port.

Getting There & Access

The crossing from Sant Elm takes around 15 to 20 minutes. One well-known ferry operator serving the route is Cruceros Margarita. Access to the island is regulated, with only around 30 visitors permitted to land per hour.
