Parc Natural de s'Albufera
Description
The Parc Natural de s'Albufera is a wetland nature reserve near Muro in the north of Mallorca — a sweeping protected area of reed beds, lagoons and waterscapes, best known for birdwatching and peaceful encounters with nature.
Wildlife and Nature
The park's real draw is its birdlife: flamingos make regular appearances alongside a remarkable variety of other species. Well-maintained hides and viewpoints along the trails offer excellent sightlines across the landscape — the hides in particular are well worth seeking out. Bringing binoculars makes a genuine difference. A photography exhibition at the information point adds a further dimension to a visit.
Walking and Cycling Routes
Several routes of varying lengths are available throughout the park, from short loops to a circular trail of around 12 to 12.5 km. Much of the longer route runs without shade, so cycling is a sensible choice on sunny days. Sturdy footwear and plenty of water are advisable. Bike hire can be arranged in the surrounding area.
Information Point and Facilities
At the information point you can pick up a map of the park along with useful orientation guides. Toilets are available on site. Entry to the park is free of charge.
Location and Getting There
The park is situated near Muro (Poligono 8 parcela 4, 07458 Muro). A car park is located right by the entrance.
