The climb to Puig Tomir is a demanding one, suited to well-prepared and experienced walkers. A popular starting point is Menut, from where the summit can be reached in around two and a half hours. The route initially crosses scree fields and scrubby terrain; waymarking is sparse at the start and there are no consistently developed paths. Once you reach the first plateau, the going becomes noticeably easier. Two technically trickier sections can be negotiated with the help of a fixed chain and metal steps. It is also possible to set off from Binifaldó, where a car park is available at Refugio Son Amer. Additionally, the summit can be approached via stretches of the GR221.
