Description

Punta del Caló is a coastal walking area in the north-east of Mallorca, within the municipality of Artà, reached via a coastal path starting from the village of Betlem.

Coastal Path & Character of the Walk

The path runs directly along the coastline, linking Betlem with the bay of Punta del Caló. It covers around 4 km in one direction, making a there-and-back total of roughly 7.2 km. The route is largely flat and is considered an easy walk — the ground is rocky in places, though, so sturdy footwear is a sensible choice. The return is along the same path. If you factor in rest stops or take your time, allow around 3 to 4 hours for the full outing.

Views & the Bay

Along the way, sweeping sea views alternate with mountain panoramas, and several lookout points invite you to stop and soak it all in. At the end of the trail lies a small, sheltered bay with clear water and a spot for a swim. To reach the water, you'll need to clamber down two to three metres of rock. The bay can get busy in the afternoon.

Who It's Suited To

The path is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. Children can be brought along comfortably in a backpack carrier. Walking poles are recommended for older walkers or anyone who finds uneven terrain a challenge. The route is not designed for people with reduced mobility.

Where to Start
