Description

Sa Caseta des Bosc – Puig de Massanella is a mountain refuge nestled within an oak woodland in Mancor de la Vall, offering hikers and nature lovers an overnight stay in the heart of the Mallorcan mountains.

The Refuge

Sa Caseta des Bosc retains its original traditional architecture, built from exposed stone. It has three separate rooms with bunk beds sleeping a total of 20 people — one room with eight berths and two further rooms with six berths each. A sleeping bag is essential. Shared areas include a fully equipped kitchen and dining space with a coffee maker, toaster, fridge, wood-burning oven, crockery, glasses and cutlery, along with bathrooms with hot showers and mains electricity. A fireplace is on hand for cooler nights, and the rooms are fitted with additional heaters.

Location & Getting There

The refuge sits on the Camí de Mancor de la Vall a Caimari at km 1.5, at a crossroads from which paths branch off towards the summit of Puig de Massanella and Sa Canaleta — roughly four kilometres from the entrance to the finca, all of which can be covered on foot. A nearby climbing area also makes this refuge a handy base for sport climbers. Luggage can be transported to the refuge by four-wheel drive on request, so you can make the journey in without a heavy pack.

Who It's For & How It Works

The refuge is ideal for groups looking to spend a night together in the great outdoors — whether that's families with children, groups of friends or walking clubs. If you're planning a multi-day trek and find Refugio Tossals Verds fully booked, Sa Caseta des Bosc makes a well-equipped alternative base. Please note that there is no mobile phone signal on site.
