La Fortaleza is the restaurant of the luxury hotel Cap Rocat in Cala Blava — set within a carefully restored historic fortress complex on the shores of the Bay of Palma.

Cuisine & Menu

At the heart of the experience is a tasting menu that reinterprets Mallorcan produce and traditional island cooking through modern techniques. Dishes such as lobster, black pig, arroz negro, croquettes and desserts are firmly woven into the character of the restaurant. The wine pairing and the work of the sommelier are an integral part of the evening. Alongside the tasting menu, flexible adaptations to the Mallorca menu are possible, and à la carte options are also available.

A Fortress as Your Backdrop

The restaurant occupies part of a former military fort, whose historic architecture — stone halls, terraces and pathways throughout the grounds — provides the setting for dinner. Arriving in the evening, you descend from the entrance gate down a series of steps to the restaurant. The views out to sea and the evening light from the rooftop terrace, where aperitifs and the opening courses are served, are a recurring highlight. The atmosphere is consistently described as romantic and elegant.

Service is attentive, professional and welcoming — from the greeting at the entrance gate through to the end of the evening. Some guests have noted that the explanations accompanying each course can occasionally feel a little impersonal.

The restaurant is located within the Cap Rocat estate on Carrer d'Enderrocat in Cala Blava, to the south of Palma. The property is not visible from the road; guests follow the driveway to the hotel entrance.
