Description

The Sala Picasso y Sala Miró in Sóller display original works by two giants of modern art — free of charge, right inside the town's historic railway station building.

Two rooms, two artists

On the ground floor of Sóller's main railway station, the Tren de l'Art Foundation presents two separate exhibitions: the Sala Picasso Ceràmiques features fifty ceramic sculptures created by Pablo Picasso between 1947 and 1971 — plates, vessels, jugs and other ceramic pieces. Opposite, the Sala Miró is dedicated to lithographs, prints, etchings and paintings by Joan Miró. Both rooms are thoughtfully curated and genuinely informative. Underpinning the whole experience is the friendship between the two artists, which began in Paris in 1920.

Location & getting there

The exhibition is housed at Plaça d'Espanya 6 in Sóller — directly inside the station building where the tram also departs. If you arrive by train or tram, you'll find yourself right on the doorstep.

Who is it for?

Entry is free. The exhibition suits a short, focused visit — perhaps while waiting for a train or tram. The atmosphere is calm and contemplative, and as it's well suited to families, it fits neatly into a trip to Sóller with children in tow.
