Description

Torre de na Seca is a historic watchtower in Escorca, in the north-west of Mallorca.

A tower from the 16th century

Torre de na Seca was built between 1582 and 1584 as a signal tower — with no artillery armament, designed to keep watch over Sa Costera. The tower maintained signal contact with Torre de Tuent and Torre Picada, and stands in the Bàlitx d'Avall valley. Today it is not accessible from the inside and shows clear signs of decay.

Views & the ascent

Those who make the journey are rewarded with lovely views. The climb is considered demanding — it's pure mountain terrain, and the path to the tower is largely undeveloped.

Finding it

The tower lies within the municipality of Escorca (07315), a commune in the north-west of Mallorca that has no proper village centre. It's well worth sorting out precise directions before you visit.
