Description
Torre de sa Pedrissa is a historic coastal watchtower in the municipality of Deià, offering sweeping views across the coastline and the sea.
An ancient watchtower on the coast
Torre de sa Pedrissa once served as a lookout against pirates — one of several such towers dotted around Mallorca. Today it stands in ruins and cannot be entered, but that does little to diminish its appeal. The real draw is the setting: the views across the bay, the coastline, and the surrounding sea are the experience in themselves. Cannons lying at the base of the tower serve as a reminder of its original purpose.
Getting there
The tower sits away from the coastal road and is only accessible on foot, which keeps visitor numbers low and makes the sense of seclusion part of the charm. Part of the route passes through private land, and a gate and signage can make navigation a little tricky. A nature trail — available as a GPX route in a Serra de Tramuntana guide from the local tourist office — leads to the tower and offers its own rewarding views along the way. The path itself varies in character: some stretches are easy-going and relaxed, while others climb steeply uphill.
Where to find it
The tower is located at Torre de sa Pedriza in the municipality of Deià (07179), on the Illes Balears.
