S'Arenal stretches along Playa de Palma between Palma and Llucmajor and is one of the most densely populated holiday and residential areas in the south of Mallorca – and the local food supply reflects that. The 30 listings in the Supermarket & Food category show that both holidaymakers staying in the apartment blocks near the promenade and residents in the quieter streets further inland are well catered for.

The range spans from small neighbourhood shops offering Spanish and international staples to larger branches of well-known chains such as Mercadona and Eroski, usually found a little away from the beachfront in the residential and commercial streets. Those staying close to the beach will mostly find smaller shops for everyday needs, while bigger shopping trips are easier a few streets inland, where parking is also more readily available.

During the high season, shops tend to be noticeably busier, especially in the morning and early evening when both visitors and locals do their shopping. Many stores can be reached on foot from the hotels and apartment complexes along the promenade, though for larger purchases it is worth heading a short distance beyond the tourist centre to the bigger branches.
