Anna Ponces

Anna Ponces is an actress and opera stage director from Barcelona with nearly 30 years of stage experience. She works at renowned institutions such as the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) and the Gran Teatre del Liceu, including its opera master's program, where she serves as director and coach. She also teaches artistic identity at Taller de Músics and works as an acting coach for singers. Her artistic focus lies at the intersection of opera, theater, music, and poetry — a range she brings to life in several languages (Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian, English, Portuguese). At "La música parla" at Fundació Sa Nostra, Can Tàpera, she lends this experience as narrator in a program exploring the boundaries between spoken word and song — featuring works like Walton's "Façade", Satie's "Sports et divertissements", a Schubert melodrama, and spoken songs by Albéniz. Together with pianist Anna Crexells, she crafts an evening that reveals how voice and piano merge into a single expressive gesture.
