MADEMOISELLE

Mademoiselle Yulia (stylized as MADEMOISELLE YULIA) is a Tokyo-born DJ and musician who has been active since 2008, closely associated with the Tokyo electro scene. Her musical roots go back to high school, where she performed as lead vocalist and guitarist in a four-piece punk and technopop band inspired by The Clash and Kraftwerk. She broke through as a DJ in 2008 before debuting as a singer in 2011. Her debut album *Mademoworld* was released digitally on September 21, 2011, via EMI Music Japan, followed by a physical CD in October of the same year. Produced alongside VERBAL and John Fontein, the album blends electronica and J-pop. She supported the release with a worldwide tour alongside VERBAL. The singles "Gimme Gimme" and "Bam Me" preceded the album. Beyond music, Mademoiselle Yulia is also active as a designer and is widely regarded as a style icon within Japan's fashion world.
