Ye

Ye, born Kanye Omari West on June 8, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia, grew up in Chicago, where he developed his passion for music. He first gained recognition as a producer, most notably through his work on Jay-Z's acclaimed album *The Blueprint* (2001). His debut album *The College Dropout* (2004) established him as a solo force, introducing an introspective, sample-driven style that fundamentally reshaped modern hip-hop. Landmark releases such as *My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy* (2010), the album *Ye* (2018, via GOOD Music/Def Jam), and the collaborative *Vultures* with Ty Dolla $ign followed. In March 2026, he released his twelfth studio album *Bully* via his YZY label in partnership with independent distributor Gamma, featuring Travis Scott, CeeLo Green, Peso Pluma, and Don Toliver. Beyond music, he founded the label G.O.O.D. Music – home to artists like John Legend and Pusha T – and turned the Yeezy brand into a global fashion phenomenon. He legally changed his name to "Ye" in 2021 and is widely regarded as one of the most influential and controversial artists of the 21st century.
