Maria 5 Beach

Camp de Mar

Camp de Marbeach club

With one foot in the soft sand of Camp de Mar, Maria 5 Beach blends a Mediterranean way of life with Asian-inspired cuisine – a gastrobeach right on the seafront in the quiet southwest of Mallorca, between Port d''Andratx and Peguera. Its wooden terrace is woven between the pine trees on the beach, and the whole place belongs to the Treguer Collection of the Mallorcan Balaguer family.

What makes Maria 5 Beach special

Maria 5 is conceived as a gastrobeach – not a plain restaurant, not a classic club, but both at once, laid out across five spaces: bungalow, terrace, chill-out, teppanyaki and a sunbed area. By day you can find a shaded spot under the pines; by evening, a table for dinner under the stars overlooking the bay and the little island of La Illeta, linked to the beach by a wooden bridge.

The kitchen is led by chef Gunnar Blischke, born and raised in Hamburg, who started cooking at 18, became European champion with the German national team and finished second at the World Championship in Shanghai. His sous-chef Charaf has worked alongside him for more than twelve years – a tight, multicultural team that marries Japanese technique with flavours from around the world.

Beach, sunbeds & the five spaces

On the beach at Camp de Mar you can book sunbeds – every two come with a parasol and a bottle of water. If you want it quieter, the bungalow is set aside for more intimate moments; the chill-out zone and terrace catch the sea breeze and the Mediterranean view. The venue doesn''t publish daily rates, so ask directly when you book.

Cuisine & drinks

The menu is a fusion of Mediterranean character and Asian accents, built on traditional Japanese technique and fresh seasonal produce. Recurring plates include prawns in tempura, crunchy duck croquettes dusted with pistachio, salmon sashimi with brown butter and inventive sushi such as the orange prawn roll and Maria''s vegetable roll – alongside crowd-pleasers like the American cheeseburger and grilled cod. The wine list runs from reds, rosés and whites to cava and champagne.

The real signature is the teppanyaki: teppanyaki chef Andri Bastian cooks each dish as a live show right in front of you, from Wagyu beef and USA sirloin to Australian lobster and giant tiger prawns. Maria 5 is regarded as one of the island''s best teppanyaki – and the only one set directly on the sea. It can be booked for private parties of up to 20. Beyond the food, the house is renowned for its signature cocktails, presented as creatively as they''re mixed.

Atmosphere & best time to go

By day Maria 5 is a relaxed spot on the sand for families – children are warmly welcome, and so are dogs – while in the evening the mood tilts towards sundowners and dinner. A curated music selection, live performances at weekends and monthly theme parties keep it lively; on Fridays and most Sundays a DJ spins easy chill-out sets into the late evening. For the sunset over the Mediterranean, aim for an early-evening table – and book ahead, especially in high season.

VIP & Tables

For groups and special occasions there are tailored options with dedicated menus and different areas – from birthdays and pre- or post-wedding celebrations on the sand to more formal business dinners on the private terrace. The teppanyaki can be booked for private parties of up to 20 people. Sunbeds are bookable, each with a beach umbrella per two loungers and a water bottle.
