Tiki Beach Mallorca — Sushi, Cocktails and Sea Views on the Son Moll Promenade
Right on Avinguda d'Amèrica, Cala Rajada's pine-lined seafront promenade, Tiki Beach occupies one of the best terraces along Son Moll beach. Tiki wood décor, lounge seating and an unobstructed view across the calm, east-facing bay — sit down once and it becomes obvious why this place has turned into the focal point of the whole promenade strip.
The Concept: Nikkei Meets Hawaii
Tiki Beach serves a kitchen you wouldn't necessarily expect at the north-eastern tip of the island: Nikkei sushi, poke bowls ranging from Oahu tuna to spicy tofu, tuna and salmon tataki, wok dishes and grilled mains. Add to that tuna and salmon tartare, crispy burgers — and for the youngest guests, a dedicated kids' menu with margherita pizza and pasta. The cooking weaves together Peruvian, Japanese and Hawaiian influences into a fresh, unfussy style that suits the sun-bright atmosphere of the venue. A proper cocktail programme and well-chosen wines round things off — the Instagram tagline "Sun. Sea. Sushi. Cocktails." says it all.
The Operators: Peggy Jerofke and Steff Jerkel
Tiki Beach carries a story many in Germany will recognise: Peggy Jerofke, known from the German TV show "Goodbye Deutschland", runs the venue together with partner Steff Jerkel. That the couple previously operated the sports bar "Sharky's" at this very address — and closed it again after a short run — makes Tiki Beach a second act at the same spot, and this one is working better. Jerofke gives the place a face and a narrative that reaches far beyond Cala Rajada, drawing in the German-speaking crowd in particular.
Location: Son Moll and the Promenade
Son Moll is Cala Rajada's main beach: fine sand, shallow water, families with children, sunbeds and parasols for hire, showers and a lifeguard in season. Right behind it runs the promenade with cafés, ice-cream stands and restaurants — Tiki Beach occupies some of the best-positioned tables on this whole axis. Strollers coming in from Cala Gat or the wide arc of Cala Agulla will inevitably pass by. In the evening the light turns the bay golden, and the sea breeze off the Mediterranean makes the terrace a genuinely relaxed place that doesn't need midnight to prove itself.
Atmosphere and Guests
The crowd is mixed: families at lunch, couples for a sundowner, groups of northern Europeans on summer holiday. Anyone looking for Ibiza-style glamour is in the wrong place — but anyone looking for a beach-bar experience that cooks better and looks sharper than the usual suspects on the promenade is in exactly the right one. Service pace can be more leisurely than hoped — that is simply island time. The kitchen comes up regularly in positive feedback: fresh ingredients, creative combinations, portions that justify the price point.
Seasonality
Tiki Beach typically opens for the spring season — traditionally with a season-launch event under the "MARTIKI" label — and runs through summer into autumn. Reservations are accepted; in peak summer this is strongly recommended. Unlike the clubs and discos elsewhere on the island, there is no DJ night programme here — the music is relaxed background, not the main event.
