Palmacocktail bar

The Brassclub is one of the most renowned cocktail bars in Palma de Mallorca, set centrally on Passeig de Mallorca 34, just a few steps from the Passeig del Born. Bar chief and founder Rafa Martín opened this classic cocktail bar here in 2013, inspired by the elegance of New York clubs yet given its own distinctly Mediterranean signature.

What Makes Brassclub Special

As soon as the door closes behind you, you could be in Manhattan - and yet you are right in the middle of Palma. Its visual trademark is the ceiling of more than 3,000 bottles, which stretches across the room like waves of the Mediterranean. The space is fairly small and intimate, with soft lighting and gold details.

What stands out is that Brassclub is no closed-off scene bar: a large share of its guests are locals who come regularly. More than a decade ago it was one of the first bars on Passeig de Mallorca - today it is a firm reference point on the island''s cocktail scene.

Drinks & Signature Cocktails

Signature cocktails available only here sit at the heart of the menu, alongside carefully made classics for those who prefer tradition. The list changes regularly and leans on local, seasonal produce - citrus, herbs, figs, almonds and island vermouth.

A well-known example is the "Indiano", smoked with a Cohiba cigar. Prices sit roughly between 13 and 16.50 euros. If you cannot decide, the well-rehearsed team of bartenders will steer you by taste - and a small, finely curated snack menu is built to pair with the drinks, from an aperitif bite to a light dinner.

In-House Labels

Under its own label, Brassclub produces creations you do not just drink but also find inside the cocktails: Sa Roqueta gin, the craft beer aBrass cadaBrass and a red vermouth by Luis Adolfo y Lorenzo. These house labels are part of what sets the bar apart from the average city-bar offering.

Rafa Martín & Team

Rafa Martín comes from Salamanca, grew up in his father''s restaurant business and started competing in cocktail contests at the age of 16 - taking bronze at the 2012 world final in Beijing. In Mallorca he first worked in hotels and ran bartender training at the Cappuccino Group before opening his own place. He is considered one of the most influential figures on the Balearic cocktail scene, yet he himself insists his team is the bar''s real asset.

Because the space is small, it is worth reserving - especially on Friday and Saturday evenings.
