The high season from April to October brings particularly strong demand in hotels, restaurants and tourist services. Year-round, skilled workers are sought in construction and trades, the property sector and IT – the latter boosted by a growing number of digital nomads on the island. German-speaking employees are especially in demand at businesses serving German tourists and residents.
Important: for legal employment in Spain you need a social security number (Número de Seguridad Social) and, as an EU citizen, registration in the foreigners' register (Certificado de Registro). Self-employed workers register as Autónomo.
