Hospital de Manacor opens new pharmacy clinics
The Hospital de Manacor in Manacor, Mallorca, opened new hospital pharmacy clinics on 17 August 2026 in the first floor of its new outpatient building. The Balearic Islands Ministry of Health said the service is intended to make care more coordinated and focused on patients’ needs.
Treatment reviews and patient support
Pharmacy and nursing staff will assess each patient’s medicines individually, checking their suitability, dosage, possible adverse effects and interactions with other drugs.
The clinics will also monitor whether treatments are being followed, organise appointments and clinical checks, and advise patients on taking medicines correctly. Consultations can cover diet, physical activity, harmful habits and emotional wellbeing.
Links with outpatient care
Locating the clinics in the outpatient care area is expected to make it easier for pharmacy staff to work with other health professionals involved in a patient’s treatment. The service can identify issues requiring prompt action and, where appropriate, refer patients directly to nursing teams or responsible specialists.
Maria Antònia Maestre, pharmacist in charge of the External Patients Unit, said the new facilities recognise work aimed at supporting patients and improving health outcomes. The hospital’s oncohaematology pharmacy clinics are located on the third floor of the outpatient building, in the day hospital area.
