Deia Weather

Today's weather in Deià
Sunny and warm: 31.1°C under a clear sky, with a feels-like temperature of about 26.6°C. A light breeze of around 3.6 km/h creates a calm, Mediterranean atmosphere. The weather in Deià remains stable; the minimum this morning was 23.9°C, the daytime high is expected to reach about 32.7°C, and the chance of precipitation is only 1%.
During the day the heat builds gradually without gusty winds — perfect conditions to be outdoors as long as you find shade and drink plenty of water. The sun dominates and the air stays dry; it cools only slightly in the evening, so the long Tramuntana shadows don't appear until late. Deià offers warm afternoon hours today, ideal for taking things at a relaxed pace.
Perfect for a beach day
Heading to Cala Deià early is the best idea: the cove is small but one of the island’s most beautiful, and pleasantly quiet in the morning. Later you can stroll the shady lanes of the artists’ village, pop into galleries or walk past Robert Graves’ house — all good additions to the day. To finish: a relaxed gourmet dinner at one of the hotels as the heat slowly lets up.
Outlook: Sunny again tomorrow, around 31.2°C.

Climate in Deià — Steep Coast Between Mountain and Sea
Anyone planning a vacation in Deià encounters one of the most climatically distinctive spots on Mallorca: the village clings at 201 m above sea level to the steep slopes of the Tramuntana's western coast, directly above the Mediterranean. Mountain and sea shape the climate from two directions — the Tramuntana's northwesterly winds meet the maritime warmth of the Balearic Sea.
No dedicated climate station data exists for Deià. Based on climate data from the Sóller valley (~8 km away, 59 m above sea level) and an altitude correction for the roughly 140-meter difference, annual precipitation can be estimated at a minimum of around 590 mm — more than in Palma (around 510 mm). Exposed to the Tramuntana on the steep coast, the area likely receives rainfall similar to the Sóller valley when weather fronts arrive from the north. November is the wettest month in the region.
Summer in Deià is warm, but slightly cooler than sheltered inland valleys thanks to the proximity of the sea: estimated July highs, based on climate data from the neighboring region, come in at around 29°C. The steep coast offers direct access to small swimming coves — sea temperatures in the Balearic Sea sit at around 25°C in July and peak at around 26°C in August. Even in October the water remains pleasant at around 23°C.
One defining climatic feature of the Deià coastline is its direct exposure to the northwest: when Tramuntana storms roll in, they hit the steep coast without warning — the village itself is somewhat sheltered on the hillside, but access roads become impassable in high winds. Winter daily averages in the region hover around 9–10°C; Deià, on its hillside position, is similarly tempered to the Sóller valley, but with greater wind exposure.
Note on data sources: No dedicated climate station data exists for Deià. The figures are derived from T3 climate data for the Sóller valley and estimated with an altitude correction. They should be treated as rough reference values only.
