Albert Pla

Albert Pla i Álvarez, born on 22 September 1966 in Sabadell, Catalonia, is one of the most unconventional singer-songwriters in Spanish music. In 1988 he won the National Singer-Songwriters Contest in Jaén; a year later he released his debut album „Ho sento molt" (1989) in Catalan. His first Spanish-language record, „No sólo de rumba vive el hombre" (1992), cemented his reputation and is widely considered one of the finest Spanish albums of the 1990s. His style deliberately defies categorisation, blending singer-songwriter tradition, punk attitude, spoken word and theatre performance, all laced with dark humour and social critique. Collaborations with Joan Miquel Oliver, Estopa, Sidonie and Joan Manuel Serrat demonstrate his reach across the Iberian music scene. Beyond music, Pla is also a noted actor, with credits including the box-office hit „Airbag" (1997), the TV series „La mesías" (2023) and the Netflix film „The Platform 2". His new album „No quiero hablar de mí, pero yo" is being released via BMG, with tour dates across major Spanish venues including the Roig Arena.
